Yeah, way too long! Congrats on finishing the PhD – yes?
I spose the “context” is not much more than the dadaist love for the cut-up/collage. I find the photo-montage/collage to be the art form of the first half of the 20th – maybe of the whole century. Not only so redolent of the fragmentation of modern, urban societies, but so obviously made possible by these societies as well.
